How Jesus healed a man with a shriveled hand
The man with the shriveled hand could not hold things like spoons, cups, plates, and chairs. He could not put on his clothes without a struggle.
That is because the muscles in that hand were weak and smaller than those in the other one. Because if that, the shriveled hand was bent and small.
Jesus healed the man on the Sabbath rest day
The Jews were celebrating the Sabbath Rest Day when Jesus healed the man. The Sabbath Rest Day took place on Day Seven of God’s Creation Week.
After God completed His Work of Creation, He rested on the Seventh Day:
And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done.
So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation.
God had commanded everyone in the earth to rest on Day Seven of His Creation in order to calm their bodies and also to praise Him.
However, many nations in the earth did not obey and worked on the rest day. They got very tired, sick and grew away from God.
The Jews always remembered to keep the Sabbath Rest Day because their Prophet Moses had taught them to do so. No one did any work like going to the fields, or selling or buying in the market.
When is God’s Sabbath Day of Rest?
In order to understand the timing of God’s Sabbath day, we need to map days of the week with the Creation week.
God created the Sun, Moon and Stars on Day 4 of Creation for days, years, time and seasons.
He rested on the seventh day, which was the third day after the Creation of the Sun, Moon and Stars.
We believe that Creation Day 4 maps the Spring Equinox when the sun and moon line up almost opposite on the Equator. This means that the season has changed from Winter to Spring.
The day after the Equinox is Day 1 of the New Year.
Apostle Enoch told us that the beginning of the year is at the beginning of Spring.
God’s New Year begins the day after the Spring Equinox, which takes place on March 19th or 20th each year.
Apostle Enoch clearly said that these are the signs of the New Year:
- the earth becomes warm.
- the trees bear fruit.
- the trees bear leaves.
- certain plants like the wheat, rose flowers and other flowers come out of the earth.
- winter ends.
We believe that God’s Creation Day 7 maps the third day of His New Year.
We believe that the Spring Equinox maps the Creation of the sun, moon and stars on Day 4 of Creation.
We know about the timing of God’s New Year because Apostle Enoch told us that it begins in the Spring.
God’s New Year begins on the day after the Spring Equinox, which takes place on March 19th or 20th each year.
We celebrate God’s New Year in 2022 on Monday March 21st. This is the day after the Spring Equinox
Naughty people complained because Jesus wanted to heal on the Sabbath rest day
Jesus met the man with the shriveled hand when He went into a synagogue to teach. It was the Sabbath day and the man wanted to be healed.
Some Synogogue leaders called the Pharisees and Teachers of the law were spying on Jesus. They wanted to see if He would heal on the Sabbath.
They believed that Jesus would be guilty of breaking the law if He healed on the Sabbtah day. They did not understand that healing is the mighty work of God and a blessing to those who need it.
Jesus knew what they were thinking, but said to the man with the
‘Get up and stand in front of everyone.’
The man obeyed the Lord and stood up.
Suspecting that Jesus would heal the man, the Pharisees and Lawyers angrily asked,
‘Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?’
‘If any of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath,
wouldn’t you take hold of it and lift it out?
Jesus rebuked them and healed the man
Jesus continued to speak. He was angry because the Pharisees and Lawyers did not want the man to get better:
‘Humans are more valuable than sheep!
Is it more lawful to do good or to do evil on the Sabbath?
Is it more lawful to save someone’s life or to destroy it?
You cannot break the law by doing good on the Sabbath.”
Jesus looked around at all of the people in the crowd, then said to the man, ‘stretch out your hand.’
The man obeyed and stretched out his hand. It was completely healed and looked jist like the other one.
